While attending classes at the Vocational Center, Kim Placek was encouraged to become familiar with the skills of pet grooming in 1986. After completing her training, Kim began to serve an apprenticeship with a local pet groomer. Two years later she began grooming on her own, and in 1995 Kim and her husband, Dean, founded Kim's Pet Grooming Etc. in Brunswick. Kim's Pet Grooming Etc. is a full-service pet grooming facility offering bathing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, brush-outs, and hair cuts for dogs and cats. We are very experience in scissor cutting, and strive to clip to the breed whenever possible. We have groomed dogs ranging from one pound to two hundred pounds, and simply love working with animals.

My staff and I work by appointment and can usually have a dog or cat groomed and ready to go home within three hours. I prefer to have the cats and dogs picked up shortly after we are done, although we do have customers who drop their pets off on their way to work and pick them up on their way home.

The front of our shop is a little bit of a boutique and is stocked with a variety of knick-knacks and gift items. My husband also runs his jewelry business here where he specializes in selling and repairing jewelry. He sells his diamonds at wholesale prices which is a considerable savings over regular jewelry store prices. He offers complete repair services, including sizing, settings, prongs repair, and stone tightening.
