As an experienced Director and Administrator of a child care facility, Joyce Pace longed to open a center of her own. On March 3, 2003 with the help of her husband, Pat, and daughter, Donna Krevinko, she founded Adventures in Learning Child Care Center, Inc. on Pearl Road in Brunswick. Pat and Joyce's son, Mike Pace, has become the Administrator for the day care, and today this family owned and operated facility enjoys an enviable reputation for the care they provide. We met with Pat recently, and listened as she provided this overview of Adventures in Learning Child Care Center's offerings;

Adventures in Learning Child Care Center, Inc. offers child and infant care for children from six weeks to twelve years of age. We are licensed by the State of Ohio for 96 children in our day care and 24 in our infant center, and provide both before and after school care. Parents visiting us for the first time are always impressed with the cleanliness of the center, their ability to see into every room, and our state-of-the-art security system.

Our staff is one of our greatest assets. Donna and Michael are licensed Registered Nurses, and Michael is also a paramedic. All of our staff members have been trained in first aid, CPR, and child abuse detection, and over 90% of our staff has been certified by the state for receiving over forty-five hours training in early childhood eduction.

We provide milk, juice, and water for the children throughout the day, in addition to daily meals that include breakfast, two snacks, lunch, and dinner. Our menu is set a month in advance, and parents are welcome to supplement the meals in accordance with their child's individual preferences.

Rather than take our children outside the center on field trips, we have interesting groups visit the children here. The children have been visited by veterinarians, policemen, The Nature Center brought owls and snakes, and the fire department came with fire trucks and a paramedic truck for the children to see. Our goal is to make each visit a learning experience for the children.

We strive to develop good working relationships with our parents, and try very hard to care for their children as they would. We give each child individual care and attention, whether it's an extra snack, an extra bottle, or whatever their needs may be. We endeavor to please each of our parents so they can go to work secure in the knowledge that their child is happy and content.
